I know the world was getting ready to witness a performance that would make history when two latinas like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were headlining the Superbowl this year, where the underdog--The Chiefs would defeat the favored team, the San Francisco 49ers. Which by the way, I do want to note that I was going for The Chiefs and was thrilled when they beat out their opponent--which was also deserving of a Superbowl championship. But getting back #latinogang #OMG the performances that lit up the Hard Rock Stadium the night of February 2, 2020 will forever live in my heart. As if I almost didn't lose my shit watching Shakira hit the stage and dancing like a Savage, Bad Bunny made it all the better joining her on a heart-stopping performance.
Here I am at a bar in Puerto Rico watching the show and there comes JLo! Everyone screamed as if we were all present at this epic event called the Superbowl Half-time show. And then my heart exploded when J Balvin jumped on that stage and sang 'Que Calor' and 'Mi Gente'. And we can't forget about the amazing debut our 'Jenny from the Block's' daughter Emme had joining her mother on stage to share with the world she's got talent and she's ready to take center stage along with her famous parents.
This was the holy grail of what a half-time show should be, at least in my humble opinion. I sang, I laughed, I even cried a little and felt more excited watching this medley of unstoppable super stars than a 21-year old at an open bar. I am proud to be American, but I am also proud to be Latina, with my curves and my slogan #strongnotskinny because I can never been that skinny girl with this ass. I am sentenced to working out for the rest of my life if I want to look like JLo one day when I reach the golden age of 50. Luckily I have found some amazing HIIT exercises to help me get there, along with watching my mouth.
